I had quotes from three different travel agents, all through recommendations, but decided to go with Zaki (Dolphin Tours) as he was very responsive, he spent a lot of time with me on the phone explaining things, recommending which National parks to go to and suggesting nice accommodations in our budget. Zaki took care of the everything for us, all I had to do was transfer the money and enjoy our vacation.

On our arrival, we were given a welcome gift, a huge snack bag (with chips, nuts, cookies, etc.) and bottled water for our entire 6 days on safari.

Zaki, sent us an excellent safari guide “Swedi”, you need to ask for him . Swedi was so good, he gave us a great safari experience, very good at spotting animals. During our trip we saw all the African Big 5 multiple times. Zaki & Swedi also arranged a surprise bush lunch for us, which was so sweet of them. My mom was so pleasantly surprised and loved the food, it was a good break from boxed picnic lunches, that we had everyday during safari.

On our last day of safari, we wanted to try local Tanzanian food, and Swedi arranged that for us by calling a local mama.

I would personally recommend working with Zaki & Swedi at Dolphin Tours & Safari for your next trip to Tanzania. Some of our personal favorite camps & hotels were - Burunge Tented Lodge, Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Camp, Serengeti Sound of Silence, and Marijani Beach Resort

We got to see a leopard in a tree, tons of lions, and we even found the wildebeest migration which was quite a sight! He was a great driver and made it such a fun experience. We wanted to do more activities but the game drives were amazing that we could resist going on a game drive for 3 whole days.   If you plan on coming to do a safari in the Serengeti, you must ask for Lawi. He knows so much about the nature, and also the roads and... read more animal behaviors, this made it extremely easy to find different wildlife. We saw every single animal we came here to see (although the rhino was a little shy, we still saw his horns). Not only did we see these animals, but we came within FEET of a pride of 9 lions (one huge male and 8 females), 2 cheetahs on 2 separate occasions (one eating a kill with her 3 cubs), a leopard and her cub, and a massive herd of maybe 30 large tusked elephants. Not to mention the countless other animals we saw along the way.

Lawi speaks very good English, communicates with his team very well to stay on top of animal activity, and he is always on time (we were the ones late to breakfast a few times and he is the one who waited for us). He is also an excellent driver, on some occasions there was rain and while we saw other drivers getting stuck in the mud, we never got stuck once.

Overall if you plan to do a safari here do yourself a big favor and ask for Lawi!

The Dolphin management team were also extra helpful in organising the safari and all our transfers and even provided lunch which was delicious. They went the extra effort to even meet and greet us the day before the tour started. Highlights include the lions in the tree, wildebeest giving birth and baby jackals. The safari vehicle was comfortable and roomy. Elisha was very knowledgeable, friendly and customer accommodating.
